Hey guys. Well done these three days, i think we basically breezed through the two games against ACSi and Peicai. I hope we dont get complacent, the next two games arent gonna be all that easy. Basically the stats show that GYS beat Fairfield by a single point, and fairfield are supposed to be the second top team in our group. However i dont think we should actually bother about all these statistics, cos we've gotta have this mindset that we're taking all four games by force. No bother, all the others are just fighting for second place. As coach said, we're running a race of our own. Should be pleased with the progress so far, we're improving quite a bit and i think we'll be able to kill off Jurong the time we meet them in the nationals. By my hope i wish to meet them in the finals and only the finals. Two down, sixteen more to go. Lets crash the party, boys, we're taking this away from the powerhouses this year.

Hi guys, this is wei han and this is offically my first blog entry for the egg ball boys. Good job on winning ACS!! YAY! we owned them like crazy.

Basically, i read this book called Hoop Drills by this guy called Vincent M. Mallozzi and then inside got this chapter written by some pro coach in USA. I quote from there, pls don say i plagarize or anything..jus wanna share this with u...

Chapter: Movement learning

Players who have trouble shooting free throw-like Shaq from LAL (this book written long ago)- or makeing shots from three point range or making left-handed layups, now have an oppourtunity to try to hone those skills with extremely unconventional drills as well as the numerous traiditonal exercises tat appear in this book.

Arlene Berkman and Carol Ann Erickson of the Brain-Body Center For Perfornmance Enhancement in Scarsdale, New York, say they can teach hoopsters (bb players) a way of incresing their skill level from Educational Kinesology, a program they have designed to enhance brain function and movement.

The exercises:

1. Drink a glass of water: Drinking water increases energy, improves production and concentration (alleviates mental fatigue), and improves test-taking abilty and all academic skills.

2. Brain Buttons: While holding the navel area with one hand, rub the thumb and finger of other hand in hollow areas (1-2 inches apart) under the collar bone on each side of the breastbone just below the collar bone. by doing this, a person is increasng clarity for any visual activity or thinking skill.

3. Cross-Crawl: Touch hand to opposite knee, alternate moving one arm and opposing leg. do this for 1-2 mins with a variation-touch opposite elbow to knee. the cross-crawl exercise improves left-right coordination

4. Hook-ups: Put left ankle over right knee, right hand over ball of left foot. (for some, right foot on top feels better). sit this way for one minute, eyes closedm breathing deeply for another minute. Next, uncross legs, and put finger tips together, breathing deeply for another minute. Hook-ups diffuses stress and promotes clear listening and speaking.

5. Positive points: these points are just aboe the eyeballs, halfway between hairline and eyebrows. lightly place three fingers of each hand together on these areas. hold for 30-60 secs.

Tats all...hope it helps in one way or another...by the way, we gonna whip Peicai man!! YAY!! Btw, happy bdae to Chander and thanks for the pearls...

ok guys, so its 4 more days to our first match. been looking back at the time when we first started preparing for season during the december holidays. Messy, disorganised, weak and strange would be the words that i will use to describe what it was back then. when the p6s just came in, things were rather messy due to the fact that they were not used to how it was like to be in the RI team. weak, both physically and mentally as i remembered that some of you were struggling with PT and the fight was just not there. strange, like i said some of you were new in the team, so it was rather difficult to get along as you find yourself suddenly in a court with people that you have never played or even seen before. back then that was how it was like, but now we find ourselves sharing one common goal, that is to win the 2007 national championship with our season just starting in 4 days time or rather the day when we were together preparing ourselves for this single goal. no doubt the season would be a long and tough one, but i believe that the hunger and team spirit within the team will pull us through the season and make it our year. guys, lets give it our best and leave no regrets when we have come to the end of the season and not give lame excuses to why we lose, but walk with our heads held high up because we gave our best and we lost fair and square. so, guys lets give it our best shot for the 2007 national chamiopship.

Hello guys.
So our final ended like 5 hours ago, it's like 2am now, and here i am posting.
It was sad we lost, nobody likes losing a final. By a mere 4 points.
The first final as a team, we lost it. But thank goodness this isn't everything. Though not everyone got to play significant minutes, i think it was rather, a good game. We matched them blow for blow, at the beginning more like they matched us. They were catching up all the time, until the end, when we began to lose steam and teo han hit those 2 3pointers from like 1 foot away from the 3p line. Those were my fault, i must admit.

I've realised that both our jurong games were all really close, and we just lose it to jurong at the end. I realise that they have the fire and drive to finish the other team off, something we're still lacking. Communication wasn't too good today, the crowd watching was probably a factor. So yeah, we're missing that hunger, that burning desire to win. That, definitely has to change.

It's quite pointless going on and on about what we didn't do well, all the what ifs, the hows we could have won, what we should have done, etc. What i think i should be saying here is how well we did and how we should improve. Our communication will be a big problem, and like muscleman said, jurong have been playing at this level of defensive intensity for much longer than us, so there's no time to waste, let's keep upping and upping our defensive intensity, it'll ALL be worthwhile in the long run.

If you guys remember, during halftime, when the idiotic performances were going on and we almost lost focus. Remember when we put our arms round each other, talked to one another, encouraged and spurred one another on. It's gonna be like this all season, nobody's gonna encourage us, we have to encourage each other. But it sure as hell as nice, one perfect circle.

1 week to the start of season, 10 days to our first game against ACSI. Are you guys up for the challenge? I'll be in malaysia tomorrow, so please do cooperate with ravins during training, i;m sure you guys will have fun without me, LOL. But yeah, 10 days to the beginning of a hopefully long journey. Are we going to be able to last all 18 games of the season, all the way to national final? Are we good and capable enough?

I certainly think so. We're heading in the right direction, everything's going quite well. Let's keep it this way, and strive for the greatest height possible. One team. One goal.

Championship game '07. We're coming baby.

Great job today guys, keep it up, have a good rest and get ready physically, mentally and emotionally for season. The countdown's 10 days. Only 10 days baby, that's like only 240 hours. So yeah, ARE YOU GUYS READY?

to pick ourselves up from this setback and conquer all that comes in our way

Hello guys.
Today's friday, so i suppose we're all gearing up for our T-net final against Jurong tomorrow. To be honest, i think we all expected cat high to be facing us tomorrow and not Jurong as it is in reality. No matter, i believe the standards aren't much different between the two schools though on paper cat high lost by what, twelve points? Perhaps it simply wasn't catholic's day, the redsports writer said that shots and lay-ups just weren't falling for them. As i said, no matter. I think a game against Jurong would be kind of beneficial (in a better matchup kinda light) to all of us, as the bigs aren't as tall as the walls in the CHS team. No problem i think, lets gun for a win tomorrow.
So i'll end with an inspirational quote i noticed while looking at the rjc court noticeboard. The best zone defense looks like a man-to-man, while the best man-to-man D looks like a zone. Lets go out and do it tomorrow, WHILE we shout our throats hoarse.

hmm yeah, watched the cathigh and jurong match earlier on. cathigh was so beaten up by jurong, that cathigh's coach gave up. this sat will be one heck of a game, so pleasseeee shout till your lungs burst and throat sore and scare the crap out of jurong, dont worry we won't be made to clean the courts after that. so, yeah get yourselves prepared for the fight. though coach will not be able to make it but we still have to give our everything and make the best out of the match.
so lets bring all your weapons ready for battle because this will not be an easy one, treat it like national finals and bring the game into hell for jurong.

The picture above was koped from gryphonsbasketball.blogspot.com copyright muscleman 2007.

So team A beat springfield by about 30 points, then yesterday we beat unity by about 15, and we're in the final. For tnet, that is. Against JURONG secondary school, who just beat cathigh by about 11 points just now. At one point, they had a 25 point lead yeah. But there's nothing to be afraid of, let's just go out on court, do our thing, heck care the tnet lousy rims, shout our lungs out, treat it as a national final and walk away from the game with our heads up high no matter the result. Oh yeah baby.

Coach also announced the team today, and to weihan, zijian and brendan, i think you guys really deserve commendation and congrats, from your captain =) Especially weihan, you've improved tremendously and overcome all odds. And for zijian, you're becoming a monster underneath the basket. SIR WEE.

For chin, eric, yuet, and greg who didn't make it this time round, there's always the team for the nationals, and the coming years ahead. There always comes this time in every season where the squad is cut. But i really hope you guys dont take it too hard, failure is the mother of success, and i believe all of us have each succeeded in our own different ways. Just remember that we're all behind you. Yup.

Just look back to where and how we were last december. Those trainings at redhill, where everyone was so disbanded and stuff, i had to BEG all of you to go for a meal together after training. Back then, there were discriminations, we spoke about each other behind each others' backs, nothing like the brothers we are today. Then when all the sec ones came in, it sure as heck was hard integrating them all in, and it took an uphill task for everyone to work together as one. From the training attendances to the way we spoke to each other, you guys definitely can see how much we've grown as a team. So despite not all of us having made the team, although i'm pretty sure it means a lot to all of us, things will stay the same way, and get better, not worse.

With this, let's play our best on saturday. Coach won't be around but we'll still do out best. Rest well these next few days, and prepare for war on saturday. This time, we'll make sure the entire bukit merah can hear us, we make sure we make so much noise that all the ah bengs in their houses will fire eggs down at us. so muscleman can catch them and gobble them all up.
We learnt the hard way when we took this tournament lightly in the beginning. None of us have won anything in raffles colours yet. Let's make saturday the first one.

AND ALL OF YOU. PLEASE POST MORE, NOT JUST THE TAGBOARD. COME ON PEOPLE, THIS IS A TEAM BLOG. T-E-A-M. :D

Both teams A & B have two more games coming up next week.
Team A: Tuesday 11am VS Woodlands Ring
Wednesday 11am VS Springfield

Team B: Tuesday 3pm VS Kranji
Wednesday 3pm VS Peirce

Last 2 games of the 1st round. Team B's chances of making the second round may not be very high, but i'm pretty sure we'll fight till the death. Impossible is NOTHING, even though i'm wearing nike for season =)

Second round starts on friday.

Two games in two days can be really exhausting, and especially at this stage of preparation, i still feel that the most important thing and top priority is to be healthy, UNSICK (heard that chander?) and NOT TO GET INJURED. So yeah, let's play safe, fight hard, own the rest upside down.

Mr leg hair and mr smelly pants, please blog.
Mr 4.0 gpa as well.
Also Mr Cannonbomb.
Mr Dingling ling.
And SIR Wee.
Not to mention mr third nipple,
also Mr No Look Pass.

And to chander, for all your enthuness in the world, please tag here if you have any complaints about me, instead of flodding my tagboard. Thank you and have a nice day.
